Ting is a future experiment in the field of Future of Work and collaboration between Dezentrum and Verein Grundeinkommen, which is an association that grew out of the activist group behind the initiative that gave Swiss citizens with voting rights the chance to vote on a Universal Basic Income in 2016.

Continuing the journey of the UBI in Switzerland, together, we started a prototype for a proactive social system, instead of having a reactive safety net that only helps when something already happened (e.g. burnout or joblessness).

Instead of only individual savings on individual bank accounts, members of the community pay a certain amount of money each month and thereby enable others to take a temporary basic income for up to six months right at the moment they need it. This way, whole biographies can be influenced and new knowledge gained for future social systems.

The big challenge is to develop a community that not only shares money but also knowledge while being fully transparent.

With 3000 members and by taking 10% of the monthly statements, Ting will be a self-sustaining organization.
